Overview
Brockport NY Forward
As a canal community with origins as a port on the Erie Canal dating back to the 1800s, Brockport's NY Forward aims to transform the historic downtown corridor and Erie Canal waterfront of this vibrant village into an accessible destination for all. Revitalization in Brockport focuses on four key areas: expanding diverse and affordable housing options; implementing universal design principles for inclusive streets and public spaces; enhancing Erie Canal recreation and dining opportunities; and strengthening the unique historic character of the downtown through façade improvements and public art.
The proposed projects will build upon Brockport's existing assets as a certified Pro-Housing community, Erie Canal town, college town, and hub for neighboring municipalities. Through public, private, and non-profit investments, Brockport seeks to be a premier inclusive waterfront community that works for residents of all ages and abilities, while attracting visitors and fostering economic growth throughout the region.

Engagement Opportunities
LPC Meeting #1
The Village of Brockport has been awarded $4.5 million in funding from New York State through the NY Forward program to plan and implement transformative projects in downtown Brockport. This is the first of several monthly meetings of the Local Planning Committee, the group responsible for guiding the NY Forward planning process and identifying which projects will be submitted to the State for funding consideration. This meeting is open to the public.
